3. Parties to Whom Information Is Disclosed
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose your information to the following categories of parties:
- Payment processing - Stripe: When you make a payment, your transaction is processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your payment details (such as card number and billing information) directly and securely. We receive a confirmation of payment and, where relevant, your billing name and email. Stripe's use of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Property portals - realestate.com.au and Domain: When you choose to publish your listing, your listing details are submitted to these portals so the listing appears on their platforms. Their handling of your information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
- Email and communications providers: We use email services (including Google / Gmail) to send transactional and marketing emails on our behalf. These providers may process your email address and message content as necessary to deliver those emails.
- SMS providers: We may use SMS gateway providers to send you or property enquirers text messages (for example, SMS enquiry codes). Your phone number is passed to the provider for the purpose of sending that message.
- Service infrastructure providers: Hosting, database and analytics providers that help us operate and improve the Service.
- Professional advisers: Lawyers, accountants and auditors where necessary for compliance, dispute resolution or business advice.
- Buyers and renters: When you make an enquiry or offer on a listing, your name, contact details and message are shared with the property owner (and, where applicable, their nominated negotiator) so they can respond.
- Law enforcement and regulators: Where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety or property, or that of others.
4. Method of Disclosure
Your information is disclosed to the parties above through the following methods:
- Direct API transmission: Listing details are transmitted to property portals, and payment details to Stripe, via secure encrypted API connections (HTTPS / TLS).
- Email: Enquiries, offer requests, receipts and notifications are sent by email between you, our team, listing owners and relevant third parties.
- SMS: Phone numbers may be passed to our SMS gateway provider to send text messages.
- Account access: Listing owners can view enquiries and offer requests submitted on their listings through their dashboard.
- Aggregated or de-identified data: We may share statistical or de-identified information that can no longer be used to identify you.
5. Security Practices
We take reasonable measures to safeguard your personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our Service, and between our Service and third-party APIs, uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.
- Payment security: Card data is collected and processed directly by Stripe, which is certified as a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider. We never receive, access or store your full card details.
- Access controls: Access to personal information is restricted to authorised personnel who require it to perform their duties, and is protected by authentication and role-based permissions.
- Secure password storage: Account passwords are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes, not in plain text.
- Data segregation: Each user's listings, orders and enquiries are isolated so that one user cannot access another user's private data without authorisation.
- Monitoring: We monitor our systems for unauthorised access and suspicious activity.
- Data retention: We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.
While we implement these safeguards, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, update or request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of marketing communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@revsproperty.com.au or 0449 572 717.
